「 19.11.18 」 “What we could have been (Chapter 13)”
So, recently (3 days ago), I came across this amazing Ishimondo fanfiction called“What we could have been”written by @gauntletknight which imagines a non-Despair Dangan ronpa AU between Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Mondo Oowada. It’s very cute and fluffy and it’s so enjoyable to read. When I reached chapter 13 (don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything), I felt inspired to draw them…
Warning: please procced with caution, the story presents a few slightly-NSFW chapters, however, they are well marked by the writer at the beginning of the supposed so you’re not caught by surprise.
Message to @gauntletknight: I hope you don’t mind my surprise, I saw this:
and I couldn’t avoid drawing them. I was having a major art block these last couple of days so your beautiful story helped me a lot…I know it’s an awful drawing but I sincerely hope I drew them just how you imagined them! (And I needed a reason to draw Ishi with longer hair and both of them in suits).
Coping mechanism is a technique created by oneself to deal with external or internal stress (which could be healthy or unhealthy).
A smal background: I had a bit of psychology during my time in college and this was a subject that got my attention. I wanted to adapt this concept with Taka because Ishida IS a coping mechanism used to deal with Mondo’s death.
Sometimes I wonder if, in his dormitory, we would take Ishida’s mask off to just… cry his eyes out.
Like some of you may know I’ve recently found this great Ishimondo fanfiction “What we could have been”written by @gauntletknight which imagines a non-Despair Dangan ronpa AU between Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Mondo Oowada. I have already done fanart about this fanfiction (link) and decided to draw more because the writer deserves it.
EXTRA:
I’ve been with a terrible artist block for two weeks. Plus, the stress is killing me (I can’t find a job) and drawing Ishi (and Mondo) calms me a lot. Reading this fanfiction also provides me so much joy – it’s so fun to read it! ^^
Message to @gauntletknight: I am so sorry for drawing again fanart of your story… I hope you don’t mind! I really enjoy making these doodles. (heart)
I like to give purple/blue/green sheen to black hair to make them pop. I went the light blue blazer since they put her in a soft blue dress during one of the chapters and I think that she would just look very pretty in cool tones with a warm skin tone.
The rest are Anir and Hige expressions and banter.
1) Anir: Wait…aren’t WE his friends?!
2) Hige: So is this your acquiescence to our comradery?
3) Hige: Well, we never did preengage recreational activities outside the school environment. (Yeah i know I misspelled it in the drawing dyslexia sucks)
4) Anir: BS! What do you call us ridin’ home together? >>Insert Hige’s cheeky reply of “Us riding home together”.
Hige as I said a Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness character-he had a stutter when growing up and found that by using the longer or more uncommon words he’d take his time more when talking and not stutter as bad.
>>He’s an accountant.
Anir is actually rather emotional and tends to overreact. Only reason why he hangs out with Hige (and eventually dates him) is because he (and another) took the time to re-explain why it was impolite to just leave his cigarette butts on the ground and the proper means of disposal-ie took the time to actually talk to him than treat him lower than dirt.
>>He’s a foreign language teacher specializing in Spanish, Italian, and French (¼ French)
